Great information. thank you for taking the time to share with other people. To think her husband/business partner committed suicide yet was involved with this program, says a lot. Self-help programs are just an easy way to make money. It was a turn-off for me to notice they never discuss the program or what it is or the cost on the television commercial (just the free CD). I believe as you – nothing is for free. Not even those 90 day trials – with S&H. again, thank you for posting all this info. I won’t give them the time of day – and i will share this with others.

I’ve been living with OCD for as long as I can remember but it has gotten more severe over the last 3 years. I am in the process of starting my own OCD blog that is targeted more towards African Americans and their lack of knowledge about this disorder. I am doing some research and I came across your blog which I find an absolute delight! It’s a comfort when you find out that there are others who live in the same lonely world that you live in at times. I love your honesty and vulnerability that you have provided in your posts. Once I get mine up and running I hope you don’t mind if I add you as a link!

I called a few days ago to cancel my order, and was told that I only had to pay the shipping and handling, which came directly off my credit card. I explained that I didn’t want the product, and was advised by my DR. not to take anything that you sent. I told the lady on the phone that I was mailing the packages back, and not to bill me anything else on my credit card. She said my 30 days weren’t up, and to wait until the DEC. the 24th. to cll back and mail the packages then. I have the packages ready to mail in the AM. which is DEC. the 24th. I just checked my card and you billed me anyway. And not the 49.95 quoted to me, but, 64.00 and some odd cents. If I don’t get this credited back to my card asap, I have no choice, but to contact the authorities, since this is fraud. The better business bureu will also be contacted. I will have to call my bank and report this. I will be canceling this card asap, you will not steal from me again. I sent a letter to my senator, and my congressman, of which both are very close friends of my family. This will be taken care of. This money better be back on my card by the 24th. as I am sending your packages back. I was lied to in order for you to trick me. I want my money back, NOW!!!!!!

I realize I am in the minority, by far it would seem, on results I got from the Program I received from The Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety. I do not know much about Lucinda Bassett personally and was sad to hear about the news of the apparent suicide of her husband several years ago. I ordered the program back in April of 1993, yes almost exactly 21 years ago to the day. I had been having panic attacks for 9 months that had finally limited me to feeling trapped in my own home, or in technical terms, Agoraphobic. I felt desperate and late one night I saw one of her infomercials from way back in the day. I ordered without caring about the cost and listened intently to each tape, ya it was on cassette tapes back then! I worked the workbook each week along with the tapes and it worked! I’ve been through a brain tumor and brain surgery, divorce, job loss, loss of my home, deaths in my family etc. and through all of that, not had to suffer the additional strain and stigma of panic attacks. So, perhaps it is not the catch-all fix or quick fix for everyone. I can only say I’m deeply grateful that it worked for me in my life and gave me certain tools to use when things got pretty rough. I have nothing derogatory to say about the Midwest Center nor their program and all I can personally say to Lucinda Bassett and what she started, is thank you. My wish is that everyone can find what works best for them and helps them be their best! Denise

Thank you for all you have said! My father took his own life because of anxiety and depression. I have that diagnosis as well.
I thought this product was worth a try because I have been trying everything else. It is funny how a company dedicated to help with your anxiety caused me sooooo much anxiety! Followed their directions, complied with their return policy completely. I was given the run around several times. On the phone with them about 8 times at least and still they charged my account. Guess I have to learn my lesson and move on but it sucks being in such a fragile state of mind as well as all of the customers they are dealing with are and still be taken advantage of! Thanks for listening. At least I know I am not alone in my frustration with this sad company.

great article. Really liked the layout, amongst other things. question: would you mind sharing what site/blog template program you used for constructing this post?

Ms. Brenner:
I have commented and left feedback upon the ‘OCD’ site on multiple occasions. I am concerned because the last few entries are not showing up as they normally do. I have had an issue with a person in my life that focuses their vengeance through on-line sources. Although I am no longer with that person, and since I have had some similar issues with my university e-mail, I must ask if perhaps there was some ‘phishing issues,’ occurring with my entries. I appreciate this site with the multiple areas of concern, being addressed. This site provides an outlet for people to share their innermost concerns, and ultimately help others to cope.
